Awarded Grant Programs

At Windy Pines, we are committed to shifting grantmaking power from our own privileged perspectives into the hands of the community we serve. In 2023, we launched a Community Advisory Committee made up of six respected BIPOC leaders, each entrusted with $20,000 to award to organizations of their choosing—$120,000 in total.

The process was simple but powerful: members selected grantees that aligned with our mission, were not organizations they worked for, and had not previously received funding from Windy Pines. This opened doors to many new and inspiring nonprofits, strengthening connections across our community.

In 2024, we expanded the committee to nine members, distributing $180,000 in grants. In 2025, we will increase awards again—each member will distribute $25,000, totaling $225,000.

We are continually humbled by the care, wisdom, and energy our community partners bring to this work. Moving resources—and decision-making authority—into BIPOC hands is not just our commitment, but our ongoing practice.
